Hello, I’m Naomi, the proud face behind Spark Cleaning Services, your trusted partner for all your commercial cleaning services and more in Leeds!
My journey into the world of cleaning began 15 years ago, in 2009, during a pivotal time in my life. At that point, I had just gone through a significant life change, splitting from my partner, and was a single mum to two wonderful children, then aged 3 and 4. I needed a way to support my family, so I decided to take control of my future and start something of my own.
The Journey
At the time, I was working as a business manager in the catering industry—a demanding job with long hours and childcare costs that didn’t fit with my new circumstances. However, cleaning has always been a passion of mine, even from a young age. In catering, I loved tackling cleaning projects, like the massive canopies above the grills, where the results were always so satisfying. That love for cleaning inspired me to take a leap of faith.
My first cleaning jobs came from private households I found on Gumtree. I worked around my kids’ nursery schedule, squeezing in shifts between drop-offs and pick-ups. It was exhausting and required a lot of juggling, but I found joy in transforming homes and creating sparkling spaces for my clients.
Building the Business.
Over time, I expanded into offering commercial cleaning services alongside residential ones, helping businesses across Leeds maintain pristine, professional environments.
As time went on, word began to spread, and my business started to grow. By year two or three, I had built a solid reputation as a trusted cleaner in Leeds, and demand for my services was increasing. It wasn’t long before I needed to hire extra help. Growing Spark Cleaning Services was challenging, especially in the early days, but seeing the progress made all the hard work worth it.
The Present
About five years ago, I stepped away from cleaning myself to focus on running the business full-time. While I miss the hands-on work, managing the operations and watching my business flourish has been incredibly rewarding. Today, I work six days a week behind the scenes, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
My Team
I’m fortunate to have a fantastic team of loyal, hardworking cleaners, many of whom have been with me for years. I’m also grateful to still have a few of my very first clients—relationships that have stood the test of time and grown stronger over the years.
